Having your password remembered

The ClaimSuite login page provides a convenient "Remember password" option that can greatly simplify the process of logging into ClaimSuite, especially for frequent users of the system.

If you choose the "Remember password" option your password will be encrypted and stored in a "cookie" on your computer. The next time you visit the ClaimSuite login page your details will be automatically completed and you'll only have to click the "Login" button to access the system.

Another advantage of the "Remember password" option is that if you've logged in to ClaimSuite but don't send or receive any information to or from the ClaimSuite server for a while (about twenty minutes) you'll be routinely logged off the system, but if your password has been remembered ClaimSuite can automatically log you back in without you having to revisit the login page.

As an extra security feature, some ClaimSuite systems do not allow passwords to be remembered so you might find your password not being retained even if you choose for it to be.

Security considerations

You should definitely not choose to have your password remembered if you share your computer with other people or if other people have easy access to your computer. Although your password is stored on your computer in an encrypted format that makes it unreadable, having your password remembered will let anyone with access to the web browser on your computer login to ClaimSuite as if they were you.

Removing a saved password

If your password has been remembered on a computer there are two simple ways of removing the password to force a password to be required the next you, or someone else using your browser, wants to login to ClaimSuite.

Firstly, you'll find a "remove" password option on the ClaimSuite login page which, when clicked, will immediately erase your saved password. Alternatively, simply log into ClaimSuite without "ticking" the "Remember password" checkbox and any password that's been saved will automatically be removed.

A third method is to completely clear your browser's "cache" but doing so will have the side effect of removing your saved preferences for other websites as well.

Changing your password

Once you login to ClaimSuite a "Security" screen is available for you to manage your ClaimSuite password. It's a good idea to change your ClaimSuite password regularly.

If you've forgotten your username and/or password you can request that your login details are reset and temporary access instructions will be emailed to you so you that can set-up a new password.
